If you cannot pray a simple prayer without mentioning the name of your pastor in the prayer… Oh God of the surname of your pastor… Then you need to really check if really you are a Christian!
Now listen carefully: no matter who your pastor is… Whether he’s a Reverend, General Overseer, priest, bishop, clergy or arch-bishop… No pastor’s name is given to be included in the prayer of ANY believer!
‘…there is NONE OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN given among men, whereby we must be saved…’ (Acts 4:12)
Listen attentively: You are not permitted to mention any other name in your prayers other than the name of JESUS! Any prayer that cannot be answered by simply saying: ‘IN JESUS NAME’…is not a Christian prayer!
‘…That at THE NAME OF JESUS every knee should bow…’ (Phil 2:10)
That verse never said: ‘…at the name of the God of so so so…’ every knee should bow! It is the name of JESUS!
Hear this: as believers, you have THE SAME ACCESS TO GOD as your pastor has! Both you and your pastor are ‘…ACCEPTED INTO THE BELOVED…’ together! (Eph 1:6) Peter said:
‘…Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, TO THEM THAT HAVE OBTAINED LIKE PRECIOUS FAITH WITH US through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ…’ (2Peter 1:1)
Wow! You have the same ‘like precious faith’ with the apostles! It is the same way they got saved that you ALSO GOT SAVED!
‘…And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, GIVING THEM THE HOLY GHOST, EVEN AS HE DID UNTO US; And put NO DIFFERENCE between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith…’ (Acts 15:8-9)
Every believer must know that the salvation that saved their pastor is the same salvation that saved them too…and that salvation is JESUS!!! No wonder Jude called it a ‘COMMON’ salvation!
‘…Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the COMMON SALVATION…’ (Jude 1:3)
Your pastor does NOT have a ‘special’ salvation than yours! It is ‘common’ (same) salvation! I am not against believers honouring their pastors! All spiritual leaders deserve the ‘honour’ of believers! (Heb. 13:24) But… No believer is permitted to ‘WORSHIP’ their pastor!
Learn to always know the difference between Honouring your pastor and Worshiping your pastor! Your pastor is not your mediator between you and God! JESUS is our mediator between us and God!
‘…Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST: BY WHOM ALSO WE HAVE ACCESS BY FAITH INTO THIS GRACE wherein we stand…’ (Romans 5:1-2)
Every believer has a DIRECT ACCESS to God through Jesus Christ! It is NOT the job of a pastor to be THE ACCESS of believers to God!No!It is the job of the pastor to SHOW believers how much access we have to God THROUGH JESUS!
Listen: If you cannot pray without mentioning your pastor’s name in the prayer …as an access to God’s anointing…you are already committing ‘human idolatry’! All prayers in the new covenant should ONLY be prayed IN JESUS NAME!
‘…And whatsoever ye shall ask IN MY NAME, that will I do, that the Father may be GLORIFIED IN THE SON…’ (John 14:13)
Honour your pastor but Pray in JESUS name alone…and let God be glorified in His SON!
