Jesus Only Part 1

Dear ‘Gospel’ ministers…

There was a time Jesus took Peter, James and John to a mountain… The Bible says:

‘…And Jesus was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light…’ (Matt 17:2)

Wow! Now, on this mountain, two prominent people of the Old Testament appeared to Jesus…

‘…And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him…’ (Matt 17:3)

Moses and Elijah… Moses representing the LAW,  Elijah representing the PROPHETS and Jesus representing GRACE…Then Peter made this serious statement:

‘…Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, IT IS GOOD FOR US TO BE HERE: if thou wilt, LET US MAKE HERE THREE TABERNACLES; one for THEE, and one for MOSES, and one for ELIAS…’ (Matt 17:4)

Ah! What kind of statement is that??? Peter was invariably saying: ‘…LORD, let us have the three messages together as THE GOSPEL….the LAW, the PROPHETS and GRACE…’!!! Let us mix or ‘balance’ all of them together… That statement provoked an immediate divine response!

‘…While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; HEAR YE HIM…’ (Matt 17:5)

Did you notice the voice never said: ‘hear ye THEM’? You don’t mix GRACE and LAW!

You don’t say:  ‘…we are saved by Grace but we won’t make heaven if we disobey God…’ (That is mixing Grace with the Law)! You don’t also say: ‘…you have been saved by Jesus…but if you don’t pay your tithe, God will curse you…’ (That is balancing Grace with the prophets)!

‘…And no MAN PUTTETH NEW WINE INTO OLD BOTTLES: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles..’ (Mark 2:22)

Avoid preaching mixtures! God said: HEAR HIM!!! Not Hear THEM!!! In fact, (according to this account in the book of Mark), immediately after God said these words, the Bible says:

‘…AND SUDDENLY, when they had looked round about, THEY SAW NO MAN ANY MORE, SAVE JESUS ONLY with themselves…’ (Mark 9:7-8)

Wow! Immediately the verdict was given to Hear JESUS only. Moses and Elijah DISAPPEARED!!! Oh glory!

I therefore make a sincere plea to every minister of the Gospel,…that you will make it a prayer and personal decision …that at your every sermon, the people will not see ‘Moses’ neither will they see ‘Elijah’…but the only One they will see is JESUS!
