Review of Proverbs 8

WISDOM IS A PERSON – Jesus

Wisdom is a person, a sharp contrast to the dark, hidden woman of the night we learnt of yesterday. Isn’t it funny that people always have to make an extra effort to sin, as well as hide their tracks? But look at wisdom; absolutely nothing to be afraid of. When you are operating in wisdom, fear will be absent. Wisdom is a panacea for timidity.

Luke 21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

*Acts 6:10* And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake – Concerning Stephen.

When wisdom shows up, darkness and confusion disappears: The entrance of wisdom gives light; Psa. 119:130.  In HIM was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1:4 – 5

WISDOM CALLS

Wisdom is not far but nearer than you ever imagine. You only need to allow him.

Rev. 3:20  Behold, *I stand at the door, and knock:

Imagine wisdom looking for a job or a husband, or a lifelong business partnership. Without boasting or going overboard, wisdom advertises herself in the most mind blowing manner. Proverbs 8 outlines wisdom’s resume and master advertisement. If this advert doesn’t make you to marry wisdom or have wisdom with you in your daily business and endeavours, you are done.

When intending to go into a partnership with someone maybe, friendship, marital, business, consultant, customer, employee-employer etc. there are basic information you need to have about the potential suitor or basic wisdom questions they must be able to answer to your satisfaction. Such as;

1. Who are you?

2. What have you been doing?

3. What are you doing?

4. What can you do?

5. What do I stand to benefit if i go into partnership with you.

6. Who can guarantee that you can be trusted?

It is really important that the person with whom you want to elope can provide sufficient and satisfactory information about these things.

Proverbs 8 certainly answers all these questions and gives us a mind blowing Resume of Wisdom.

BIO DATA

Date of birth: ETERNITY. I was made in the very beginning, at the first, before the world began. verse 23 GNB I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. KJV

Address: OMNIPRESENT. Everywhere. Anywhere. On the hilltops near the road and at the crossroads she stands. At the entrance to the city, beside the gates, she calls: verse 2 and 3. 

Most importantly you have wisdom in you. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit…  For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God;… Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual… we have the mind of Christ. 1 Cor. 2:9 – 16* 

…and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Col. 2: 2 – 3

Excellence – Listen to my excellent words; all I tell you is right. verse 6

Integrity – Everything I say is true; nothing is false or misleading. verse 8

QUALIFICATION

Master of the Masters of Inventor: The brain behind all inventions. If you want to invent anything, then wisdom is the key. Verse 12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. 

Highest Qualification in Project Management: I make plans and carry them out. I have understanding, and I am strong… verse 14 GNB. If you find it difficult to finish what you start, it is not a witch problem but a wisdom problem. Wisdom helps us to finish strong and finish successfully.

Super Exceeding Master of the Masters of Architecture and Creative Designer – I was beside him like an architect, I was his daily source of joy, always happy in his presence verse 30. If you suffer from lack of creativity, it is a wisdom problem, look to the wisdom of God. 

Master Creator:  How best to summarize verse 24 -29 than the book of John 1 v 2 – 3 The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. Have you got a business, marriage, idea to create? Get wisdom today.

EXPERIENCE

Universal administration and relations; just to name a few.

I help kings to govern and rulers to make good laws. Verse 15

Every ruler on earth governs with my help, officials and nobles alike. Verse 16

Break down of leadership is a wisdom problem.WHAT WISDOM BRINGS TO THE TABLE? The Great abundant life of all round prosperity.

I have riches and honor to give, prosperity and success. Verse 18

What you get from me is better than the finest gold, better than the purest silver. Verse 19

Giving wealth to those who love me, filling their houses with treasures. Verse 21  

Joy and Happiness – 34 Those who listen to me will be happy — vs. 30 – I was his daily source of joy, always happy in his presence

Quality Life and Lifestyle – 35 Those who find me find life, and the LORD will be pleased with them.

GOD: Pro 8:30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

Reading through this chapter, you can’t help but notice that the whole description up there only point to one man –Jesus.

If you hate godly wisdom, you only hurt yourself. Pro 8:36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
