We must be reminded of the awesomeness of God to us…. even to unbelievers as HE cares for all.
This was affirmed in this chapter, showcasing the Father-son/daughter relationship, enjoyed especially by His children. It is a rendered supplication to our ABBA as HE remains our Father irrespective of our fallibility (Who cares deeply for us all). Let us also remember that HE sometimes answers even without asking!
Verse 1, GNT God, be merciful to us and bless us; look on us with kindness…
The verse above reveals that His mercy (which know no bounds) gives us access to His kindness at all times thereby embellishing us in His saving grace (Verse 2).
According to Verse 4, nations are expected to continually reverence Him as a result of His goodness to all but the cares of this world had blinded most and left us without understanding (Hosea 4:6)… but for His mercies which endures forever (Psalms 106v1).
David – a man after God’s heart – got wind of, and maximally used the weapon of ceaseless thanksgiving, albeit all situations (capitalizing on his knowledge of the unending depth of God’s mercy), to his advantage! Little wonder all things went well for him. What a smart move…
Brethren, note that the end result of such a move are found in Verses 6 & 7…
…increase on every side and we become the envy of all as Jesus is glorified in us.
Please, be reminded that there is a huge profiting attached to rightly positioning ourselves when communicating with our ABBA even in challenging times because we are more in line for the showers of blessings (see Psalms 34v10).
Also, we are admonished in Philippians 4v6 to always remain calm and made our requests known via prayer and supplication but in thanksgiving mood.
Blessings…
MEMORY VERSE
Psalms 67:4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.
PRAYER FOCUS
ABBA, teach me to be grateful at all times and imbibe in me the attitude of true worship while communicating with You in Jesus holy name.
Amen.
