Scared About The Unpardonable Sin?

#ThisWillLiberateYou #ForThoseWhoThinkTheyHaveCommittedTheUnpardonableSin

A doctor friend once told me that there was a patient battling a chronic illness (it was either a high BP or a mental illness). Guess what? They got to know later that the disease which was about claiming her life was because she was in deep worries …as she believed she had committed the ‘Unpardonable Sin’!I was ‘wowed’ to hear that! Can you see the urgent need for the Gospel of Grace in this generation?

Now listen carefully: the very fact that you felt bad about a probability to have committed the ‘unpardonable sin’ is the proof that YOU HAVE NOT COMMITTED THE UNPARDONABLE SIN!

The unpardonable sin is a constant, continuous, heartfelt, rejection of Christ as the Messiah for your salvation! That is what is meant by the BLASPHEMY OF THE SPIRIT! To be specific with the context in which it was directly mentioned in Scriptures, the Blasphemy of the Holy spirit requires that Jesus is still bodily present on this earth when it was committed. ‘…whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.” He said this BECAUSE THEY WERE SAYING, “HE HAS AN IMPURE SPIRIT.”…’ (Mark 3:29-30)

Worried about committing the unpardonable sin? Worry not!

It is to say Jesus (in His earthly ministry) has a Demon! But Jesus is no longer present with us in the body! ‘…Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way NO LONGER…’ (2Cor 5:16 NASB)

The fact that the woman was worried about if she has committed this sin …is the very ‘acid-test’ to know that she hasn’t committed it! I love the Matthew Henry Commentary on Matt 12:32… ‘ those who fear they have committed this sin, give a good sign that they have not. The trembling, contrite sinner, has the witness in himself that this is not his case.’

You got that?Listen carefully: The blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, specific as it was to the Pharisees’ situation, CANNOT be duplicated today. To commit this sin, Jesus Christ will have to be on earth physically performing a miracle and then you saying He has a demon! Jesus Christ is not on earth, and no one can personally see Jesus perform a miracle and then attribute that power to Satan instead of the Spirit.

The only unpardonable sin today is that of CONTINUED unbelief. (John 3:18, 1John 5:12) Paul blasphemed to a point he called himself a Chief sinner!

‘…This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am CHIEF…’ (1Tim 1:15)

He was not ‘chief’ because of sexual immorality, neither was he ‘chief’ because of stealing! His Chieftaincy was directly linked to his super ability and Ph.D. in ‘Blasphemy’ Sciences.

‘…who was before a BLASPHEMER, and a persecutor, and injurious…’ (1Tim 1:13)

Paul blasphemed to a point that he COMPELLED believers to blaspheme!

‘…And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and COMPELLED THEM TO BLASPHEME; and being EXCEEDINGLY MAD AGAINST them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities…’ (Acts 26:11)

A blasphemer that compels others to blaspheme must indeed be a CHIEF blasphemer! I doubt if that woman in the Hospital has blasphemed up to Paul’s level of blasphemy! Yet see what Paul said about his blasphemy:

‘…AND I THANK CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; …Who was before a BLASPHEMER, and a persecutor, and injurious: BUT I OBTAINED MERCY, BECAUSE I DID IT IGNORANTLY IN UNBELIEF…’ (1Tim 1:12-13)

Wow! He obtained mercy !Believe the gospel and obtain mercy too! It is interesting to note that even his sin of thick blasphemy was classified as IGNORANCE!

‘…but I obtained mercy, BECAUSE I DID IT IGNORANTLY IN UNBELIEF…’ (1Tim 1:16-17)

Wow! Now follow carefully. Under the Old Covenant, there is a kind of sacrifice the people rendered called the ‘Trespass Offering’. Among other sins this sacrifice covered was a particular sin called ‘IGNORANCE’!

‘…If a soul commit a trespass, and SIN THROUGH IGNORANCE, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his trespass unto the LORD a ram without blemish out of the flocks… for a TRESPASS OFFERING’ (Lev 5:15)

Jesus on the cross became our trespass offering and INCLUDED the sin of blasphemy as a sin of IGNORANCE! This was why despite the thorough blasphemy his killers and on-lookers were pouring out on Him at the cross (Luke 23:35-38), He said:

‘…Father, forgive them; FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO…’ (Luke 23:24)

What a Saviour! He immediately included the sin of Blasphemy under the Trespass offering as a sin done in IGNORANCE! FOR THEY KNOW NOT what they do! Oh! In fact, according to the crucifixion account in Matthew and Mark, the TWO thieves who were crucified with Him, were BOTH blaspheming against Him!

‘…In the same way the REBELS who were crucified with him also HEAPED INSULTS on him…’ (Matt 27:44 NIV)‘…Even THE MEN who were crucified with Jesus RIDICULED him…’ (Mark 15:32 NLT)

Yet one of the two men who later believed in Jesus… even though he had ridiculed him at the cross… received this statement from Jesus:

‘…Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise…’ (Luke 23:43)

Wow! His blasphemy was converted to Ignorance and was fully paid for by the blood of Jesus! If that thief could have obtained mercy, then you can obtain mercy! If Paul, the Chief blasphemer, could have obtained mercy, then you can obtain mercy! ‘…but I obtained mercy, BECAUSE I DID IT IGNORANTLY IN UNBELIEF…’ (1Tim 1:16-17) If you feel remorse unto repentance in Christ thinking whether you have committed this sin, then YOU HAVE NOT COMMITTED THE SIN! Take cover in the Trespass Offering and receive the Liberty of Life in Christ into your conscience!‘

…STAND FAST THEREFORE IN THE LIBERTY wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage…’ (Gal 5:1)

The devil will be super glad to keep you bound in the yoke of eternal guilt and uncertainty; resist him firmly and receive the Love of the Father towards you. (James 4:7 )For ANY sinner that will come to Jesus today, even if you think you have sinned to the ‘GUTTER-MOST’, Jesus is forever able to save you to the ‘UTTER-MOST’!

‘…Wherefore he is able also to save them to the UTTERMOST that come unto God BY HIM, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them…’ (Hebrews 7:25)

Believe the Gospel and you shall obtain mercy! ‘…him that cometh to me I will IN NO WISE cast out…’ (John 6:37) Amen.
