The Faithfulness of God

The faithfulness of God is one aspect that should excite believers about our God! For example, in encouraging believers to endure trials, Scriptures said this about the man named Job:

“…You have heard of the endurance of Job and have SEEN THE OUTCOME of the Lord’s dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful…” (James 5:11)

The outcome? Carry your Bible… Sorry…calculator will be better…

‘… the LORD gave Job TWICE AS MUCH as he had before…’ (Job 42:10)

At the beginning of brother Job’s story, scriptures told us what he had:

“…He had SEVEN sons and THREE daughters, and he owned 7,000 SHEEP, 3,000 CAMELS, 500 YOKE OF OXEN, 500 FEMALE DONKEYS, and a very large number of servants…” (Job 1:2-3)

When God was to restore Him, He restored Him in double QUALITY and QUANTITY. For the animal possessions, He restored double QUANTITY. For the sons and daughters, He restored double QUALITY! Hope your calculator is still nearby?

Previous record:

7,000 SHEEP,

3,000 CAMELS,

500 YOKE OF OXEN,

500 FEMALE DONKEYS

Upon restoration:

“…So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had FOURTEEN THOUSAND sheep, and SIX THOUSAND camels, and A THOUSAND yoke of oxen, and A THOUSAND she asses. 13He had also seven sons and three daughters…” (Job 42:12-14)

From 7,000 to 14,000 sheep

From 3000 to 6000 camels

From 500 to 1,000 yoke of oxen

From 500 to 1,000 female donkeys

Faithful God. Precision to the core. Double QUANTITY! And for the children?

Previous record:

“…He had SEVEN sons and THREE daughters…” (Job 1:2)

Upon Restoration:

“…He also had SEVEN sons and THREE daughters…” (Job 42:13)

Same Quantity… right? But DOUBLE QUALITY! Few verses later:

“…No women AS BEAUTIFUL as Job’s daughters could be found IN ALL THE LAND, and their father granted them an inheritance among their brothers…” (Job 42:15)

For this to be so uncommon in all the land, shows that it goes beyond physical look. Spirit-Soul-Body beauty! Beauty can come as a result of hereditary look or intense cosmetic/dermatological assistance. But when God blesses you with Beauty as an outcome of His faithfulness, it comes in a unique way that results in favour without compromising spiritual values. (Dan 1:11-16) God indeed RESTORES!

Have you lost anything? Believe in this God that restores everything!

When He said ‘…for your shame, you shall have DOUBLE honour…’ (Isaiah 61:7) …believe Him!

When He said ‘…I will restore Health unto you…’ (Jeremiah 30:17) …believe Him!

When he said ‘…His blessings on you will make you rich without any sorrow…’ (Prov. 10:22)… believe Him!

And best of all is this eternal assurance to every believer – the CROWN OF LIFE!

‘…Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive THE CROWN OF LIFE that God has promised to those who love Him…’ (James 1:12)

Glory! As a believer in Jesus, His faithfulness is on your side. And His faithfulness RESTORES not only in quantity…but in quality! Hallelujah. Therefore,

‘…Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials…’ (James 1:2)

This is because God is too faithful to fail.
