Overcoming Demonic Oppressions…

Do you always experience NIGHTMARES? Are you the kind of believer whose night dreams are always filled with gloom and dooms? At times, you wake up panicking and filled with extreme anxiety and fear of the nearest future? Do you feel oppressed while sleeping? Like you are being pressed down by some unseen forces in the middle of the night and you wake up helpless? Are you beginning to feel disturbed when the night draws near…for the fear of having possible nightmares again? Hmm…

Among the curses of the Law listed in Deut 28, there is one particular curse that depicts this situation:

‘…In the evening you’ll say, “I wish it were morning.” Afraid, terrorized at what’s coming next, afraid of the unknown, because of the sights you’ve witnessed…’ (Deut 28:67 MSG)

Constant unstable and fidgety night experiences are mainly products of the ‘curse of the Law’. But no believer is permitted to have a taste of the curse of the Law!

‘…Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree…’ (Gal 3:13)

If indeed you are in Christ, then there is no curse of the Law hovering around you. But why then are you experiencing this oppression – since you are a believer? Hmm… It is because you are not yet ESTABLISHED IN RIGHTEOUSNESS!

Now, I know that as I said ‘righteousness’, you might be thinking of things you did right or wrong. But that’s not what I mean. The death of Jesus for you changed the definition of Righteousness for you! Before the death of Jesus, Righteousness was defined as ‘ACTIONS you do in order to meet up with the demands of the laws of God’. But after the death of Christ, Righteousness has been re-defined as ‘a GIFT you received when you believed in Jesus as your Saviour’!

‘…they which receive abundance of grace and of THE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ…’ (Romans 5:17)

Righteousness is a Gift. And until you are established in this Gift of Righteousness, you won’t have enough resistance power for the oppressions of the wicked against you! Read carefully:

‘…In righteousness shalt thou be ESTABLISHED: thou shalt be FAR FROM OPPRESSION; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; FOR IT SHALL NOT COME NEAR THEE…’ (Isaiah 54:17)

Oppression is a product of inadequate knowledge of Righteousness. This is why among the amours of our warfare listed in Eph 6, HELMET of Salvation is for the Head, while BREASTPLATE of Righteousness is for the Heart. (Eph 6:14, 17) When you are established in Righteousness, your head is secured from mental oppressions and your heart secured from satanic condemnation and manipulations!

Therefore the question is: How do I get established in Righteousness? It’s easy…but it requires your co-operation.It’s simply by CONTINUOS HEARING OF THE GOSPEL OF GRACE.

‘…Does God lavish His Spirit on you and WORK MIRACLES among you because you practice the Law, or BECAUSE YOU HEAR and believe?’ (Gal 3:5)

There is power in HEARING! God works miracles when you get addicted to HEARING! Hmm..

There was a man who was born lame, but was patiently LISTENING to the Gospel of Righteousness that Paul was preaching. (Acts 14:7-8) The Bible recorded something spectacular about this ‘hearing’ man:

‘…This man WAS LISTENING to Paul as he was speaking. When Paul stared intently at him and saw HE HAD FAITH TO BE HEALED…’ (Acts 14:9)

As the man was listening…God was building Faith in him for his situation! The rest was history!

‘…Paul said in a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet!” And HE JUMPED UP AND STARTED TO WALK around…’ (Acts 14:10)

The power of Hearing! Listen carefully: demonic activities cannot survive in the environment of a believer who is addicted to HEARING THE GOSPEL!

I have this addiction. My phone playlist runs overnight with Gospel messages of any of my 3 teachers playing. I sleep on the gospel, I wake on the gospel. For example, I strongly recommend you listen to Pastor Joseph Prince addictively. This recommendation is based on the fact that the Gospel of the love of God that Joseph Prince teaches will not allow you to even believe a devil can touch you. Don’t surround yourself with teachings that are always talking of demons, enemies in the village, die by fire or emphasizing witchcraft!

What you listen to is what you attract. If you are oppressed in your sleep or always having demonic activities around you…just follow this advice:

– Download some teachings on our website.

– When you are about sleeping, play it on your phone near you and keep listening attentively till you sleep off

– Continue this attitude for several days till it becomes an addiction.

You will be surprised at the changes you will observe. Your atmosphere will be saturated with the Gospel Life and the Resurrection power of Christ will be tangible in your environment. Hmm…

Let me round up this post with this short story. There was a woman who had a demonic infirmity that affected her physical structure so much that she could not raise herself to walk straight. This was on going for 18years. One day, she situated herself into a teaching meeting where JESUS was to be the teacher. Follow carefully:

‘…And Jesus was TEACHING in one of the synagogues… And behold, a woman that had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years; and she was bowed together, and could in no wise lift herself up…And WHEN JESUS SAW HER, HE CALLED HER, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity… And he laid his hands upon her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God…’ (Luke 13:10-13)

Oh! I love this story. It was the same miracle that happened to the ‘hearing’ lame man we earlier talked about when Paul suddenly noticed his faith! This woman was carefully HEARING AND BELIEVING the Gospel of Jesus as He was teaching and Jesus spotted her in the midst of everybody as a woman of faith! How do I know Jesus spotted her as a woman of faith? Simple!

When Jesus was accused of the Pharisees for healing her on a Sabbath day, He replied them saying:

‘…ought not this woman, BEING A DAUGHTER OF ABRAHAM, whom Satan had bound, lo, these eighteen years, to have been loosed from this bond on the day of the sabbath?’ (Luke 13:16)

She was demonstrating an act that made Jesus call her a ‘daughter of Abraham’! The book of Galatians has this to say about the Children of Abraham:

‘…those who have FAITH are children of Abraham…’ (Gal 3:7 NIV)

And remember:

‘…FAITH comes from HEARING, that is, HEARING THE GOOD NEWS about Christ…’ (Romans 10:17 NLT)

That woman was HEARING attentively the Gospel from Christ’s mouth!!! Listen carefully: attentive hearers don’t suffer demonic oppressions!

Keep the audio circle of your home saturated with Gospel truth. Demons hate it passionately. This is because, the more you listen…the more your mind is renewed…and the more your mind is renewed…the more your faith is made effective….and the more your faith is made effective…the more you can experience the supernatural!

‘…You received the Spirit because you believed the message YOU HEARD about Christ…’ (Gal 3:2 NLT)

Hallelujah. Be a hearer of the Gospel! And satanic oppression in your nights will become a thing of the past.
