You woke up in the morning… Got ready for the day… You had just left your compound and on your way to work… Only to remember that you forgot to ‘anoint yourself with anointing oil’ before going out… You now turned back to anoint yourself with ‘anointing oil’, so as to be assured of the presence of the Holy Spirit for the day… You need serious deliverance!
Now listen carefully: In the New Covenant, there is NO SUCH THING AS ANOINTING OIL!!!
Hmm… Now I know some people are like: Eh! For real?! Blasphemy!!! What my Pastor/ Bishop/ Reverend has taught us over the years with proofs!!!
The challenge with today’s Christianity is that we think there is a ‘particular process/object’ that works miracles or heals the sick!
Hear this: the fact that water came out for the people when Moses hit the Rock with his rod… does not mean that Moses was correct by ‘hitting the Rock’! (Numbers 20:11)In fact, he couldn’t lead them to the promise land because of that! (Numbers 20:12)
Miracles don’t happen because the process was right! No! Miracles happen because God loves the people!!!
Some teachers even say, ‘…the Holy Spirit is inside the anointing oil…’ As in, in this New Covenant, …the Holy Spirit is inside a bottle? Hmm…
Now hear this: there is a difference between ‘using an anointing oil’…and…’anointing with oil’! The former indicates the power is IN THE OIL…while the later does NOT place the power in the oil at all!What you will only see in the New Testament is the disciples ‘anointing with oil’…and not the disciples ‘using anointing oil’! (Mark 6:13, James 5:13)There is a big difference!
The fact that Peter’s shadow healed the sick…does not mean there is something called ‘anointing shadow’! (Acts 5:15)
The fact that Jesus used ‘sand’ while healing a blind man does not mean you should start ‘anointing sand’ Sunday services! (John 9:6)
No object should be the MESSAGE of a Sunday service! JESUS AND JESUS ONLY remains the MESSAGE of any service! If you use ‘anything’ during a service…’that thing’ must only be referred to as ‘A THING’! Not an ‘anointed thing’!
We are not in the Old Testament please! This is a new and better Covenant! The Holy Spirit is NOT in ‘anything’! The Holy Spirit dwells in YOU!
‘…Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God DWELLETH IN YOU?…’ (1Cor 3:16)
‘…That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which DWELLETH IN US…’ (2Tim 1:14)
‘… Even the SPIRIT OF TRUTH; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and SHALL BE IN YOU…’ (John 14:17)
Hmm… The Holy Spirit IS NOT in the oil!!! The Holy Spirit is in YOU!!! Wake up to who you are in Christ! You are the one carrying the anointing… not the oil!
‘… Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and HATH ANOINTED US, is God; who hath also sealed us…’ (2Cor 1:21-22)
You are HEAVILY ANOINTED IN CHRIST! Hmm… So, whenever you are going out and you feel you need to be anointed with oil… Lay your hands on your head and say:
‘…My body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit… I have the anointing of Christ in me…therefore in the name of Jesus Christ…my day is declared blessed in Christ’!
That is how to live anointed in the new covenant!
